Joseph Murray is hosting a Holiday Art Open House December 8, 9 and 10 from 1-9 pm or by appointment by calling 712-652-3750 or emailing Wayuga@netins.net at his art studio/gallery located at 835 230th Street, Jefferson.
Murray has been painting for 52 years and counting. He plans to continue for years to come. His paintings center around a Lakota Native American Word — “Wayuga” which means serenity. Murray creates paintings that represent serenity; paintings that transcend stress, encourage relaxation, and hopefully regenerate one’s soul. He paints what he calls “rural culture” -scenes that he has an emotional connection with. His purpose is to capture the essence of a scene and communicate the emotion he has with it to the viewer. He paints in a representational impressionistic style.
The Murrays wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and invite you to their Holiday Art Open House.
